On 14th August 1960 this Convent was blessed by Rev. Fr. Thomas Cheruparambil. This convent was erected in the land given by Mr. IypeThekkekunnel, as a share for his unmarried daughter Miss. Mariakutty on condition that we are bound to look after her. The patron of this convent is St. Joseph. On 10th March 1966 this community was shifted to the newly built convent by the help of Rev. Fr. George Oliappuram(Sr.). The first superior of this convent was Rev. Mother Angel.
