This convent was established on 20th May 1972 under the heavenly patronage of our Father St. Francis of Assisi. In the growth and progress of Assisi Bhavan, Rev. Fr. Mathew Thottiyil, Rev. Fr. George Mothakunnel and Rev. Fr. Thomas Thudianplackal played an important part. Rev. Sr. Mary Joseph was the 1st superior of this convent. The land for this convent was donated by the late Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathew Pothanamuzhy. This house is a blessing to the sisters who work and study in Nirmala College.
